“Green Eggs and Ham,” “The Cat in the Hat,” “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish” and many, many more–Dr. Seuss is a classic name in many households (young and old). As such, Dr. Seuss Week is a staple and is celebrated across the United States each year. The Early Childhood Teacher Academy at PBL delights in celebrating Dr. Seuss and the love of reading. This year, the academy celebrated Dr. Seuss from February 28-March 4; each day presented a fun and new activity and dress challenge. Monday was “Fox in Socks” or Crazy Socks Day; Tuesday highlighted “Thing 1 & Thing 2” Day, so students were asked to grab a friend and wear matching outfits.  On Wednesday, ECTA Carats contemplated on “the places [they’ll] go” and wore the t-shirt or hoodie of their dream college. Thursday was colorful–just like the squishy friends featured in “1 fish 2 fish”–as academy participants donned either red or blue. Finally, Friday was “Cat in the Hat” Day. To pay homage to that timeless children’s book, students wore different style hats. All in all, it was a fun and inspirational (classic and nostalgic) week in Early Childhood!
