Happy Birthday, US Marine Corps!

Master Sergeant Jonathan Oakley, MCJROTC Instructor

On 10 November 1775, the United States Marine Corps was formed after a resolution by the Continental Congress.  This anniversary is celebrated throughout the Marine Corps annually in grand style.  Marines pause to remember those that have built the legacy to the Corps, enjoy the camaraderie of their peers and celebrate.  This year the Cadet Corps at Palm Beach Lakes celebrated by listening to the current Commandant of the Marine Corps, General Neller, as well as a recitation of a speech given by General Lejeune.  The Cadets then enjoyed some refreshments, including cake, while enjoying each other’s company.
