PBL Fire Academy cadets and instructor participated in a special memorial activity that was attended by many across the district. The 3rd Annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb hosted by the West Palm Beach Fire Depart took place on Flagler Drive on Sunday, September 11 at 9 am. The primary purpose of this event is to honor and remember the lives that were sadly lost on 9/11/01.  All of the participants paid special tribute by climbing 110 stories which is the equivalent of the World Trade Center. Half of the money raised is for the Lakes Fire Academy, and as a result of the fundraiser, ten scholarships were given to PBL fire cadets. It was a day to remember (in more than one instance).
