Blood Drive: Every Drop Helps!
October 17, 2016
The Medical Academy continues to live up to it code, creed, and purpose: In September, the first Blood Bank donation event was held in the lobby of the school’s Lecture Hall. Ms. McFarlane and her team tirelessly worked to make sure that all who signed up to give blood actually had the opportunity to do so. The team showed its appreciation by giving all blood donors pizza and a brightly colored, donor t-shirt.
Those who participated were first educated about the importance of giving blood–every little bit helps save lives. To participate in the next Blood Drive event (TBA), contact a PBL medical student or teacher. Community service is given to every student who gives blood.

“I been in the medical academy since day freshman year and let me tell you there’s never a day that I would say that I wish I wasn’t in the academy or say that I hate it. The teachers make everything hands on so that we can interact with one another like I’m sad this is my last year at lakes with the medical academy and our amazing instructors but this place that I call home will forever be in my heart”.

I love being in the medical academy! We always have a great time preparing for our future careers in this field each day we get together. I would highly recommend future incoming studdents to join.

The medical academy is like a second home to me. My fellow classmates are funny, encouraging, and fill with so much positivity. I’m truly happy to be apart of this academy.
